JOHN PAPOVITCH
 

 

John Papovitch is a filmmaker in the Westchester County, New York area excited to make his way in the industry. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz's Digital Media Production program in 2015, John has gained knowledge of Avid Media Composer, ProTools, After Effects and has knowledge in film history as well as filmmaking techniques. In his time at New Paltz, he has been involved in short films, a music video, all leading up to his directoral debut - Domesticated Monster - which was a project for Seminar for Digital Filmmaking which he wrote, produced, cinematographed and played a bit role in.

 

John has interned at WRNN-TV, a Rye Brook, NY-based news station, and more recently spent a semester interning at Bill Diamond Productions, a production house in Cornwall, NY run by Bill Diamond, a former puppet builder for The Jim Henson Company. In his time at both companies, John has worked with various television studio equipment, prepares lighting set-ups for shoots and wrangling puppets for Bill Diamond's puppeteers. Through this, John has served as a production assistant on the direct-to-DVD film Monster TV Network: 80 Years in the Making, based on Diamond's web series.
